I leave for college on August 18th at some ungodly hour. I'll be back for Christmas break.
Note to self: chocolate-covered bacon for Mr. Bevier, the Van Gogh coffee mug for Mr. Brown, and something awesome for Davis-sensei (Latin dance music CD?).

Pain
The knee that likes to dislocate has randomly started hurting again, which is disconcerting. If I move it too much, it might dislocate. If it stays bent for too long, it might dislocate.
It makes me a sad panda.
What makes me a happy panda, though, is the fact that I now own Battle Royale on DVD. It's awesome. Sadly, my copy of the book was stolen by an idiot ex-boyfriend who probably has still never read it. The film is amazing, the book is better, but the manga is SHIT. Battle Royale is like Lord of the Flies on crack with guns and government support.
I've been listening to a lot of Moi dix Mois and Schwarz Stein lately. Damn you, Mana! Curse my love of operatic harpsichordal Japanese rock music. Psycho le Cemu's also good, though.
I like shopping with my boyfriend.
Some d-bag on myspace tried to add me the other day. His profile was set to private, and his picture was of him with his shirt off. I asked him who he was and his reply was "i'm james...you're gorgeous." Yeah... not happening.
People are lame.

Memories
I found entirely too many old photos today.
I'm tired of feeling angry when I find a picture of someone who betrayed me, tired of feeling regret when I see the face of someone I no longer talk to.
I'm tired of missing the "old days" when it was okay to be stupid and reckless.
I'm tired of missing doing donuts with Joseph, tearing up Fireweed with the old gang, late night rides in CG's awesome car, having a great conversation with Tanner, being a mallrat with Gene, hanging out with Jasmine and Corinne at lunch, gaming till three in the morning at Stephen's, going to raves and seeing Caleb or Chelle, being a nerd with Ryan, watching anime and listening to Jrock with Heather.
I'm tired of missing all those things, because they aren't in my life anymore. I barely get to talk to Heather and Ryan, and I've lost most contact with everyone else who I haven't cut out of my life.
I'm tired of being angry and bitter for shit that my parents (and other people whom I stupidly trusted) have done to me.
I'm leaving for college soon. I don't know anyone there. I've wanted to get out of this shithole town, because everyone who I cared about left and I'm sick of the bad memories and stupid people, but now that I am leaving, I'm scared.
I've been alone most of my life, and I've found someone who I love and I don't want to leave him.
This sucks.

I don't understand.
As much of a grammar nazi as I am, sometimes grammar irritates me.
Example: I said "blah blah blah they hung him."
My English teacher: "No, it's they hanged him. You only use hung with objects."
Me: "Why?"
Teacher: "Because you don't say that you hung a person."
Me: "As a matter of fact, I do say that I 'hung a person' because saying 'I hanged a person' sounds stupid, and it makes me sound like a five-year-old overgeneralizing the way English is structured. Why do you say it's grammatically correct to say hanged instead of hung?"
Teacher: "Because that's just how it is!"
Me: "You have failed to show me why it is the way it is, and I will therefore continue to say hung instead of hanged."
She yelled at me for that.
I hate people (this is why I try not to read comments to articles, blogs, videos, etc.) who don't know the difference between your and you're (e.g. "your retarded") and there, their, and they're.
You shouldn't be allowed to graduate high school if you don't have this shit down and English is your native language.
I know I sound like I'm on a pedestal here, but pretty soon our country will be run by stupid people who don't know the grammar that some of us learned in elementary school.
I almost beat people in my so-called "Honors" English class when they asked me what the word "asphyxiate" meant.
In Psych, we learned that the Flynn effect is when every new generation is smarter than the previous one, but I find that so painfully hard to believe, especially when I see shit like this:
Note the "Free Tibet" flag in the background.
I want to beat that person with a club somehow made out of history books and say: "Yes, in fact, we did allow Nazi Germany to host the Olympics and I hope Jesse Owens pissed Hitler off in the process."
For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about, Jesse Owens was a black track athlete won four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. By 1936, Germany was well under Nazi control.
Are our public schools really this bad?

Lately
I was excused from jury duty because I didn't think I'd be able to give a fair opinion. The case was a drunk Native against another drunk Native sexual assault (which is unfortunately common here in AK), and seeing as how my father's a recovering alcoholic (among other reasons), the judge released me.
I think I'm getting sick.
I've met some cool people on Facebook lately who will also be Freshmen at Pacific this fall.
I currently have a fictitious person crush on Connor MacManus, the brother portrayed by Sean Patrick Flanery in the movie The Boondock Saints. I love that movie, and fuck the critics who say it's bad. It's so much more than just another action flick, and the movie is totally deserving of its underground cult. It's nothing like the horrific Tarantino films it is often compared to. (I'm also a fan of Quentin Tarantino, for the record.) The critics, both positive and negative, accuse Troy Duffy (the director) of stealing ideas and blah blah blah, cuz NOBODY IN HOLLYWOOD STEALS ANYTHING EVER. Just how many foreign movies has Hollywood bastardized? The list is entirely too long. At least The Boondock Saints is (relatively) original.
Also, my sleep schedule's been totally fucked and the few times I have gotten to sleep, the sleep has been too short and not important REM sleep.
I need to buy more clothes for school, and I need to start working out.
What the hell else will I need for school, besides a calculator??
Warren's back in town, yay!
I haven't seen a good horror movie in a long time. Hmm.
Also, I've updated my fictionpress page! Yay! I wish I could write more often.
The ending of Modigliani chokes me up every time, especially when Jeanne lets herself fall out of the window. =(
Gaming tonight!
I've been listening to a lot of classical music and opera lately, especially Bolero. It's odd.

In other news, even though I'm playing in it (go Scorpion Clan!), I'm not looking forward to the Kotei.

Mmm, drugs.
I have drugs.
Specifically, antibiotics and painkillers.

The painkillers (again, above) they gave me are hydrocodone. I'm gonna be more than a little loopy tonight.
My surgery went like this: A culture was taken of my infection. They cleaned out as much pus as they could, then put rubbing alcohol on my toe. They then sprayed my toe with a cold cold numbing agent and preceded to inject three shots of anesthetic. They poured iodine all over my toes, so now they look like they're jaundiced. There was a lot of blood. I dunno what happened next, because I didn't feel like watching, but apparently they cut my toenail and part of my skin. I was bleeding a lot, even after they had cauterized the wound. Then they wrapped me up and sent me to go get my pills.
I am now enjoying some ice cream, as I hate doctors. This is my treat for getting toe surgery.
I'll be getting off the computer now. Something tells me I'll pretty useless after I pop my first painkiller in about half an hour.
Later!

The cefdinir (above) is to kill the infection in my big toe. They're pretty and in my favorite colors.
